Toplist problem

I just installed TE and now I'm trying to create the toplists, but I get the following:
Error occured
Error: Update validation failed, illegal characters!
Please help!

Use the example toplist from the manual.Copy / paste it into the input form, that should work normally. Then build html around the toplist.
Let me know if it works...

I am having the same problem here. I tried to use the example from the manual.
And i 777 1.tmp and put the output file as 1.html (example). No matter what I try, it still says "Error: Update validation failed, illegal characters!".
I hope you can help

Hmm, when u're creating toplist template for the first time, if evaluation fails, it could be browser is including some char that shouldn't be there. Can u please try in a different browsers?
Let me know if that worked for now. We'll solve this issue with the next update anyway.

I had same issue, I clicked on 'save as' and the form was saved.
After this all works normally on this toplist with 'save' button
Hope this can help a little
